Spurs-Nets series is not compelling, but sleep inducing, making it tough to care about the outcome.

This year's NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and the New Jersey Nets make one thankful for the simple things in life.

Just like remote control devices, mute buttons, summer replacement shows, DVDs, going to movies, walks on the beach and nice long naps in the early evenings do.

In other words, any alternative to watching these miserable exhibitions, on a stage that is supposed to be the ultimate in professional basketball, is a good one.
