Making the first round a best-of-7 format can only add excitement and make the eventual champion truly deserving.

In a move long overdue, the NBA expanded its first-round playoff series to a best-of-7 format, heightening the excitement the NBA postseason brings.

The NBA playoffs are one of the most thrilling sporting events around. It doesn't matter who is playing in an NBA playoff game _ each matchup provides the drama and tension that tantalizes even non- basketball fans. It also rewards diehards for enduring a long 82- game regular season that does nothing more than determine postseason positioning.
