Rob Lowe knew that he was taking the biggest flyer in his career when he left "The West Wing" a year ago. Often perceived by his peers as a very good actor totally focused on destroying his career through scandal and substance abuse, he was now accused of mangling the hand that feeds him, too. But he refused to back down.
