Hells Angels' brass charged in hit on Outlaw, other mayhem

Pete "Grease Lightning" Rogers was a high-level member of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club in 1994 when he was shot from a passing pickup while riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle down the Dan Ryan Expy.

Rogers was a resilient fellow -- he previously survived a severe beating by the rival Hells Angels Motorcycle Club and a high-speed crash while racing motorcycles.

He survived the shooting, too, but for a decade questions lingered about who was to blame: members of his own club angry that Rogers wasn't more aggressive in going after the Hells Angels, or maybe the Hells Angels who battled the Outlaws on and off for decades.
