Carson hopeful claims censorship

Freedom of speech is being squashed in Carson.

My wife and I have recently filed our candidacies for Carson City Council in the election next March.

But I have been informed by the city attorney via the city clerk that according to state election law, I am not allowed to say, in my candidate statement in the voters' pamphlet: "The council members up for re-election have failed us. They have had their chance for four years." I am referring to Julie Ruiz Raber and Elito Santarina.

I am told by the city clerk that these two sentences will not only be struck from the voters' guide, but I will not be permitted any chance to replace them.
