Andy LaRoche will laugh about it. Eventually.
Or at least he'll chuckle about it.
Dave LaRoche was a left-handed pitcher. Back when he was arguably
the best athlete in West Torrance High history, his favorite team was
the Dodgers. His favorite player on the Dodgers was a lefty named
Sandy Koufax.
As has been noted on occasion, Koufax struck out hitters with
amazing regularity as he carved out a Hall of Fame career.
Andy, Dave's son, has been a Dodger all of a week. His Dodger
Stadium debut on Friday was about strikeouts. That was unfortunate
because he's a third baseman.
He was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts, a weak ground out to first and
a walk in that first forgettable appearance at his new ...
