Sigourney Weaver doesn't miss starring role in 'Alien vs. Predator'

When fans go to see "Alien vs. Predator" which opened Friday, what they won't see is either of the actors most closely identified with the original films that inspired the clash of the sci-fi titans.

Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in 1987's "Predator" but didn't return for 1990's "Predator 2." Now he's busy running California.

Sigourney Weaver, currently onscreen in "The Village," made her film breakthrough as Ellen Ripley in 1979's "Alien" and went on to star in "Aliens" (1986), "Alien 3" (1992) and "Alien: Resurrection" (1997).

She wasn't asked to appear in "Alien vs. Predator," nor was she interested.
