Movie music's a lot like that famous comic -- it gets no respect.

The classical music crowds have traditionally turned up their collective noses whenever music from the movies is performed, unless it's on a pops program that comes with a disclaimer stating this is "music from the movies." In their view, film composers have all sold their souls to studios, for which, in turn, they rake in the big bucks for churning out music like multicolored wallpaper.
