Article: Kemp's 3 goals lead El Segundo in South Bay water polo

Coral Kemp scored three goals for the host El Segundo girls water polo team in its 9-3 quarterfinal win against Calabasas in the South Bay Tournament Friday.

El Segundo will face Orange in the semifinal today at 10:40 a.m. Mira Costa takes on Righetti in the other semifinal at 11:30 a.m. after beating Crescenta Valley, 6-2. Both matches are at El Segundo.

El Segundo (15-4) earned its way into the second round via a first- round forfeit by Westminster.

"We didn't get to play the first game, so we came out a little slow," El Segundo coach George Harris said. "It was 1-0 in the first quarter ... but we got in the groove in the second quarter and it was 6-1 at the half."
