An unwavering focus has kept Hopkins at the top

Rising before dawn every morning, Bernard Hopkins jogged the streets of Miami as part of the training ritual for his fight against Howard Eastman at Staples Center tonight.

Along the way, he passed homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk, drunks staggering aimlessly along the beach, late-night carousers still in the midst of partying.

None of South Beach's temptations lured Hopkins, whose unwavering focus has lifted him from prison to penthouses. The undisputed and undaunted middleweight champion, Hopkins (45-2-1) has not lost a fight since 1993, and a championship belt has been a proud part of his wardrobe since 1995.
