SMITH/D4UCLA's Sean Smith isn't exactly the prototypical No. 3 hitter.

The former Culver City High standout is listed at 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds, which even he'll admit is a bit small by baseball standards.

"I started off in the two-hole, and I was hitting pretty well," Smith said. "It doesn't really matter where you hit. But yeah, I'm a little guy for the three-hole."

Smith didn't get to bat third by default, though. He earned it, batting .304 with nine runs, six doubles and 10 RBIs for the Bruins.

"He's probably more of a two-hole hitter, a six-hole hitter, but right now he's hit third in some cases and he's really produced," said UCLA coach John Savage. "He's been a good player for us ...
