Is CNN yesterday's news?
The cable pioneer enjoyed a long run as the world's preeminent
news source after its debut on June 1, 1980. But that changed during
the mid-'90s with the emergence of Fox News Channel, which pushed CNN
to second place.
Today, the Time-Warner-owned network finds itself ratings-
challenged. A string of executives and changes in direction have done
little to reverse CNN's drop to second among many key demographics.
It's just the right challenge for Jon Klein, who was responsible
for "60 Minutes" and "48 Hours" as a CBS News executive in the '90s
before launching the successful Internet startup Feedroom. He took
