CHEYENNE -- I've talked to quite a few hunters who got new Global
Positioning System receivers just before the season started this
year.
Almost all of them said they were disappointed with their new
toys, and a couple even admitted they probably won't take them out of
the house again.
The biggest problem all these dissatisfied users ran into was
complexity. I don't think there's a GPS unit on the market a rookie
navigator can pick up and use without some practice or a trip through
the owner's manual.
The other main problem was that some of these users just wanted a
compass that points to the truck. They didn't need a gizmo that could
map their routes, tell them barometric pressure and ...
