The early success of a new recreation center in Laramie should be
another motivation for the city of Cheyenne to continue working on
getting a similar facility here.
The Laramie facility has about 1,800 members, and officials hope
to peak at about 2,500.
And Laramie residents are using it. During the Christmas break,
officials there reported that on average 600 people were exercising
per day.
Other communities around the state have had similar successes.
When Cody built a recreation center, its charter memberships were
sold so quickly that it shocked city officials.
If Laramie and Cody can have successful recreation centers, why
can't Cheyenne? We can't think of a single reason.
