One candidate who has served on the City Council previously says the current bickering and infighting do not reflect the city in a positive light.

"It diverts you from your purpose," said Ward 2 candidate Mark Rinne. "I know I can make a political argument without it being a personal argument."

Rinne previously served on the council for eight years. At the time, he said, the council was a diverse group with diverse opinions. But it worked well together because everyone could express their opinions without the debate denigrating into personal conflict.

"That's the only way you can do it," Rinne said.
