I picked up speed heading down the narrow trail. Muggle, my
Australian shepherd, barked and growled alongside. He was in hot
pursuit of my skis.
His goal was to pounce, subdue and then assail them. Apparently,
the skis were the enemy.
I was coming down a narrow but steep segment of the Upper Potholes
Trail in the Snowy Range. Muggle made the situation even trickier. I
slowed down, fearful that my skis could injure his mouth as he lunged
for a bite, but the reduced speed just inspired him to get even more
assertive.
I guess I'm an old timer when it comes to skiing the Medicine Bow
National Forest, although I don't consider myself "old" at all. But
I've slid around the slopes all across ...
