Forest Service decision will reduce amount of clear-cutting in
proposed Wyoming timber sale

CHEYENNE - A new logging plan for the Devils Gate area of
southwest Medicine Bow National Forest will reduce the amount of
clear-cutting in favor of salvage of beetle infested trees.
Logging in general and clear-cutting in particular have been
criticized by the Biodiversity Conservation Alliance for disrupting
habitat of animals that need large tracts of undisturbed forest.
"The Medicine Bow National Forest is one of the most badly
fragmented forests in the Rocky Mountains," said Erik Molvar, a
