US Justice Department opens inquiry into abuse of detainees

WASHINGTON, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- The US Justice Department has opened a wide-ranging investigation into reports from Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents about the military's use of coercive and abusive tactics against detainees held in American custody at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and in Iraq, The New York Times reported Friday.
