Sudanese government expresses sorrow over UN resolution 1591

KHARTOUM, March 30 (Xinhua) -- The Sudanese government Wednesday expressed sorrow over the UN Security Council resolution 1591 and described it as inappropriate.

In reaction to the US-drafted resolution, the Sudanese Foreign Ministry said in a statement that "it is not balanced" and it violated the sovereignty of Sudan.

"the Sudanese government is sorry to learn about this resolution in the time when the country is working to translate the peace agreement (ending conflict in southern Sudan) to reality," said the statement.
