UN denies consultations with Khartoum over Darfur war crime suspects

KHARTOUM, April 20 (Xinhua) -- The UN Advanced Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) on Wednesday denied carrying out any consultations with the Sudanese government over a resolution on sending Darfur war crime suspects to an international court.

UNMIS spokeswoman Radia Achouri told a press conference here that the UNMIS does not have the right to conduct such consultations on Resolution 1593, adding that the role of the UNMIS is to explain the resolution's provisions.
