Tampa Bay to host 2009 Super Bowl

WASHINGTON, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Tampa Bay beat out Atlanta, Houston and South Florida to win the right of hosting the 2009 Super Bowl, it is announced at the National Football League spring meetings on Wednesday.

It will be the fourth Super Bowl held in the Florida city. The last time Tampa Bay hosted the Super Bowl was 2001, when the Baltimore Ravens defeated the New York Giants 34-7.

The vote was announced a day after the league asked Tampa Bay Buccaneers owner Malcolm Glazer to explain Manchester United's involvement with a Las Vegas casino.
