Bush pledges efforts to deal with rising gasoline prices

WASHINGTON, April 28 (Xinhua) -- US President George W. Bush said here Thursday evening that his administration "is doing everything" it can to tackle the rising gasoline prices and outlined four steps to reduce the dependence on foreign sources of energy.

Bush also said that the United States would continue to ask the oil-producing nations to increase their production.

"Millions of American families and small businesses are hurting because of higher gasoline prices. My administration is doing everything we can to make gasoline more affordable," Bush said at a White House press conference which was televised nationwide.
