Croatian beats record of attending most table tennis worlds

SHANGHAI, May 2 (Xinhua) -- Athlete-turned journalist Zdenko Uzorinac from Croatia has bettered his own world record of attending most world table tennis championships.

The 48th world championships being held here is the 75-year-old's 28th worlds. The Croatian, hailed as "Table Tennis Hemingway" by his compatriots, made his world championship debut in 1948 where he was knocked out as an 18-year-old in the qualification round.
