Sudanese government to put 160 Darfur war crime suspects on trial

KHARTOUM, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Sudanese Minister of Justice Ali Mohammed Othman Yassin announced here Monday that some 160 war crime suspects in western region of Darfur would be tried before a special criminal court set up on Saturday.

"The prosecution comprising of five councillors from the attorney general's office has been formed" with Nimr Ibrahim Mahmoud as chairman, Yassin told a news conference.
