Chinese Taipei overcomes Australia 3-0 in Asian women's volleyball championship

TAICANG, Jiangsu Province, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Universiade champion Chinese Taipei withstood a stiff test to defeat Australia in straight sets on Thursday in Group B of the women's volleyball Asian Championship.

Chinese Taipei took the match in 61 minutes with 25-9, 25-9 and 25- 20.

Chinese Taipei took charge from the start of the opening set. After leading with 5-4, Chinese Taipei launched a 5-0 run led by Lin Ching I who scored three points.
