Chinese Taipei beat DPR Korea 3-1 at Asian Women's Volleyball Championship

TAICANG, East China, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Taipei overcame Democratic People's Republic of Korea on Wednesday at the Asian Women's Volleyball Championship.

Chinese Taipei beat DPR Korea 25-15, 25-15, 22-25, 25-14 in the No.5 - No.8 play-off and set up an encounter with Thailand who defeated Vietnam 25-16, 25-19 and 25-18 early on Wednesday.

The Chinese Taipei team, which consists of all university students, booked a berth for the 2006 World Championship by listing No. 2 in the qualification round which was held at Ningbo City of Zhejiang province early in August.
