Thailand to assist African countries in fighting HIV/AIDS
BANGKOK, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Thailand will help African countries
prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS under a UN-initiated program, local
press reported Monday.
The United Nations Development Program has sought assistance from
Thai Public Health Ministry to help fight the disease in 10 African
countries where the deadly virus has become a critical problem.
Dr. Thawat Suntharacharn, director-general of the ministry's
disease control department, said Thai HIV/AIDS experts will help
develop frameworks for treatment and care of patients and people
living with the disease.
