Chinese Taipei finish fifth at Asian women's volleyball championship

TAICANG, East China, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Taipei beat Thailand in straight sets to win the fifth place of the 2005 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship here on Thursday.

The Chinese Taipei team, who won the women's volleyball title of 2005 World University Games at Izmir of Turkey on August 21, upset Thailand 25-22, 25-23 and 25-12 to finish fifth in the 12-team tournament.
