Volleyball roundup: Chinese Taipei upsets China for Universiade women's volleyball final

IZMIR, Turkey, August 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Taipei upset defending champion China 3-0 here on Friday to make the final of the women's volleyball tournament of the 23rd World Universiade.

Chinese Taipei, runner-up to China in the Daegu Universiade two years ago, beat China 25-23, 25-17 and 25-20 for its sixth straight win, setting up a final clash with Poland, 3-0 winner over Italy.

China started well in the semi-finals, jumping to an 8-3 lead in the opener.
