Indonesia's anti-polio vaccination to go on smoothly

JAKARTA, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's highest Islamic body gave support to the anti-polio vaccination that will be carried out next week for 24 million children throughout the country, local media reported on Saturday.

The support could dispel any doubts about the vaccines, which rumors said could cause infertility and spread HIV/AIDS that might deter people from bringing their children to immunization posts in Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim nation.
