Yangzhou to host 2007 Asian table tennis championships
SEOGWIPO, South Korea, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- The city of Yangzhou in
east-central China has won the right to host the 18th Asian table
tennis championships in 2007, the Asian Table Tennis Union (ATTU)
announced here on Wednesday.
"Congratulations to Yangzhou," said ATTU president Li Furong. "
ATTU will give full support to the city in hosting the Asian
tournament, and will send officials to inspect the work and
preparation. Hope it successful."
Vietnam had also shown interest in staging the event in its
capital city Hanoi, having launched a bid last May during the 48th
World Table Tennis Championships in Shanghai, but withdrawn it ...
