UN probe team finds no toxic waste along coastal Somalia

NAIROBI, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- A United Nations technical fact- finding mission to Somalia has found no traces of toxic waste along the shorelines of the shattered Horn of Africa nation, officials said here Friday.

Early this year, the UN appointed a team to investigate possible hazardous waste that was washed ashore by last year's tsunami and may have caused illnesses among Somalis.
