S. Africa confident in winning to host 2011 Rugby World Cup

JOHANNESBURG, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Having obtained the right to host the 2010 Soccer World Cup, South Africa now is confident in bringing home another international sports showpiece -- the 2011 Rugby World Cup tournament.

South Africa's 2011 World Cup Bid Committee completed its final lobbying tour to Europe on Thursday, with confidence that they had done all they could to secure the country's second rugby showpiece.

With 20 days to go before the International Rugby Board (IRB) makes the announcement in Dublin, Ireland, officals at the bid committee appeared convinced the tournament was coming to South Africa, said the SAPA news ...
