Vietnam intensifies fight against bird flu

HANOI, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Vietnamese government has just instructed relevant agencies to seek urgent solutions to potential bird flu outbreaks this winter, local newspaper Vietnam Agriculture reported Monday.

The government asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Health and the National Steering Committee on Anti-Bird flu to complete a national urgent bird flu response plan.

It also asked relevant agencies to limit the development of poultry raising in high-risk areas, and the local health sector to upgrade treatment facilities in case of new outbreaks among humans.
