Kyodo News celebrates 60th anniversary

TOKYO, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Kyodo News held a ceremony on Thursday to celebrate the 60th anniversary of foundation.

Among the guests were Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and Foreign Minister Taro Aso.

Founded on Nov. 1, 1945, Kyodo News has established itself as one of the major news agencies in the world.

Keiichi Yamada, executive director of Kyodo News, said at the reception that the 60th anniversary marks a new starting point for the news agency toward making greater achievements.
