Being the good neighbor that it is, Waukesha County is
considering helping out Milwaukee County with its death
investigations at an estimated cost of $464,000. The offer to pick
up some of the work is a nice gesture, and it's in the spirit of
regional cooperation that southeastern Wisconsin certainly could use
more of.
Milwaukee County is in a bind because of sudden turnover in its
medical examiner's office with two top officials vacating their
positions in recent weeks. Waukesha County Executive Dan Vrakas and
the County Board, which is expected to vote on the matter on
Tuesday, are to be commended for their good deed.
