Argentine Supreme Court to end life sentences for minors

BUENOS AIRES, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Argentina's Supreme Court told the press on Wednesday that it is preparing to remove life sentences for convicts younger than 18 "no matter how serious the crime they have committed."

Court officials said the measure would affect 11 adolescent prisoners who have received life sentences for serious crimes like murder.
