China's industrial production up 16.3 percent in first nine months

BEIJING, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- China's industrial production grew by 16.3 percent in the first nine months this year to 5,045 billion yuan (622.8 billion US dollars), the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Thursday.

In September alone, China's industrial production came to 627.5 billion yuan, up 16.5 percent, said NBS spokesman Zheng Jingping at a press conference.
