Yearender: Bush administration adjusts foreign policy amid
setbacks (Part 1) Li Xuejun
WASHINGTON, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- The Bush administration, starting
its second term early this year, has adjusted its foreign policy
which could be discerned from a certain degree of restraint in
unilaterism, downplaying of the preemptive-strike strategy and the
strengthening of diplomatic maneuver.
The Bush administration's adjustment of foreign policy comes at a
time when the thorny issues like Iraq and Iran have bogged the
superpower and strained its ties with the traditional allies, while
its "war on terror" faces a gloomy future.
