Newly-crowned F1 world champion Alonso says 2005 season is perfect

SHANGHAI, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- Newly-crowned world champion Fernando Alonso of Spain said on Friday that the 2005 season is so perfect that the season-ending Shanghai Grand Prix is not important to him.

The 24-year-old put Michael Schumacher's dominance to an end by winning the world champion two stages before the end of the season. He also made history by becoming the youngest world champion in Formula One history.

But his Renault team desperately needs him to win in Shanghai to secure their top place in the constructors' standings. Renault led McLaren by two points.
