New cases of bird flu found in Romania

BUCHAREST, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Romania has detected new cases of bird flu in a village outside the Danube delta where the deadly H5N1 strain was first discovered in October, a TV report said on Saturday.

Aurica Avram, deputy head of Braila county, said on local TV that domestic fowl had been tested positive for the H5 strain of bird flu on Saturday in the village of Ciocile, close to three villages where other outbreaks were detected over the past week.
