Air India to buy 68 Boeing planes

NEW DELHI, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- India's state-owned Air India signed an agreement with Boeing Wednesday to buy 68 commercial airplanes with 350 billion rupees (7.9 billion U.S. dollars) in the next five years, Indo-Asian News Service reported.

The order, the largest ever by an Indian air carrier, covers 23 Boeing 777s and 27 Boeing 787-800 Dreamliners for Air India and 18 Boeing 737-800s for its wholly owned subsidiary Air India Express.
