Rwanda faces fuel crisis

KIGALI, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Most fuel stations in Rwanda have again run short of fuel and it has led to some stations were hoarding of fuel while others sold them at higher price.

Justin Nsengiyumva, secretary general of the Commerce Ministry said on Monday that the fuel crisis was caused by a number of factors, mainly by the pumping capacity of Kenya.

"The pipeline from Nakuru to Eldoret or Kisumu is only 6 inches wide while that from Nairobi to Nakuru is 12 inches wide implying that the pumping capacity for the Rwanda bound fuel is low," he said.
