Uganda's Defense Council elects 10 officers as MPs

KAMPALA, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Uganda's Defense Council elected 10 officers on Friday to represent the army in the coming Eighth Parliament, state-owned newspaper The New Vision reported on Saturday.

Deputy army spokesperson Capt. David Musiitwa was quoted as saying that Chief of Defense Forces Gen. Aronda Nyakairima, Internal Security Organization and External Security Organization coordinator General David Tinyefuza, Court Martial Chief Gen. Elly Tumwine and Maj. General Julius Oketa were among those elected.
