Singapore holds first-ever terror attack drill

SINGAPORE, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Singapore on Sunday held an anti- terror exercise in one of the country's hawker centers to test the Singaporeans' response to terror attacks.

According to Channel NewsAsia reports, the drill, organized by the Serangoon Constituency Civil Defense Executive Committee, took place at the Chomp Chomp Hawker Center in Serangoon Garden in the southeast part of the country.

Codenamed "Exercise NorthStar V", the city state's first surprise large-scale civil emergency drill drew the participation of more than 2,000 people from 22 government agencies and even disrupted the public train services during the process.
