Turkey football clubs relocate to Cyprus because of bird flu scare
NICOSIA, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- The recent bird flu scare in Turkey
has prompted some foreign football teams to relocate their season
training breaks from Antalya, Turkey to Cyprus.
According to local press reports on Sunday, five top flight
Romanian teams have cancelled plans to schedule their traditional
winter training because of the crisis in Turkey. Cyprus, Italy and
Greece will now host Dinamo Bucharest, CFR Cluj, Politehnica
Timisoara, Rapid Bucharest and Vaslui. Another four teams from the
Balkan state are also believed to be on the lookout for another
location for their training.
