Bird flu virus in Indonesia not transmitted via humans: WHO official

JAKARTA, May 31 (Xinhua) -- The Avian Influenza (AI) virus in Indonesia has so far not mutated into a variety that is transmitted from human to human, an official of the World Health Organization (WHO) said here Wednesday.

"According to the information we now have, there has been no significant mutation or reassortment in the virus," The Antara news agency quoted Firdusi Mehta, coordinator of WHO's Communicable Disease Control (CDC) unit, as saying.
