Nikkei plunges below 15,000 line

TOKYO, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks dropped almost across the board on Wednesday, with the benchmark Nikkei index ending below the 15,000 line for the first time in a week.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average plunged 285.70 points, or 1. 88 percent, to 14,886.11.

The Tokyo Stock Price Index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 21.86 points, or 1.41 percent, to 1,527. 51.

Declining issues swamped advancing ones 1,429 to 212, with 54 shares ending flat.
