UN mission in DRC welcomes arrest of Rwandan Hutu rebel leader in Germany

KINSHASA, April 10 (Xinhua) -- The UN peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) expressed in a communique on Monday its satisfaction with Germany's arrest of a Rwandan Hutu rebel leader suspected of war crimes in the DRC and Rwanda.

Ignace Murwanashyaka, leader of the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR) operating in eastern DRC, was arrested by police in the southwestern German town of Mannheim on Saturday.

The capture came after the International Criminal Court detained former Congolese warlord Thomas Lubanga on March 17. Both arrests matter a lot to the peace and stability ...
