Article: CPS probes 3 BB gun incidents at S. Side elementary: One child shot, others threatened with weapon

Chicago Public Schools officials are investigating how Bouchet Elementary administrators handled three BB gun incidents at the South Side school over a one-month period, including one that may have occurred with a BB gun stolen from the assistant principal's office.

In one case, Bouchet Assistant Principal Larry Gambles confiscated a BB gun Nov. 28, but may not have secured it properly, CPS officials said. The weapon was discovered missing from an unlocked cabinet in Gambles' office Dec. 12, when a group of students surrounded a 13- year-old boy on the Bouchet playground and shot him in the foot with a BB gun, authorities said.
